Address Manager
|
|
I opened up my Address Manager software and it asked for my registration info again and all of my contacts are gone.
**This item pertains to Address Manager version 4.1

If your software is asking for your registration info and your data is missing, then somehow the folder where the database is located was moved or removed. The data folder for the software is called Stattrak Address Manager and is stored in My Documents. When that folder is moved or removed the software will revert back to a trial version and recreate that folder with only the default address (John Smith) in it.
Most of the time when people have this problem, they have mistakenly deleted the Stattrak Address Manager folder. Open up your Recycle Bin and look for a folder called Stattrak Address Manager, highlight it and click Restore. Choose to overwrite or replace the folder.
If you did not find that folder in the recycle bin, below are some other scenarios that could have caused this: 1) You are logged in as a different user account from the user the software was installed or previously used under. 2) Someone accidentally renamed or moved the Stattrak Address Manager folder that was in my documents. 3) You have had a computer problem or failure resulting in lost info or your computer was restored to a previous date.
#1 can be solved by logging in as the correct user or by copying the Stattrak Address Manager folder from the other users my documents folder and pasting it into yours replacing the Stattrak Address Manager folder in your my docs. #2 can be solved by checking in my documents for a folder similar to the Stattrak Address Manager folder and rename that folder back to Stattrak Address Manager; or locate where the folder was moved to and return it to your my Documents folder overwriting the one that is in my documents. #3 not much can be done if this happened.
