Subject:
Extra Innings - International Tie Breaker setup
Description:
We played in a tournament that in extra innings started with a runner on second and 1 out. How do I do this?

Solution:

The rule you described is very similar to the extra innings option KForce has built into it called the International Tie Breaker. The Int'l Tie-Breaker puts a runner on second but does not force an out on a team. To handle the out you can simply end an inning after two outs using the Last Batter option in KForce.

To use the options in KForce to accomplish your rules...

On the At Bat screen for player just prior to the player leading off the Top of the Extra Inning(or the last batter in the previous inning) click on More then ITB - Int'l Tie Breaker.

A runner will be placed on second base automatically and a label of ITB will be applied. Now if the rules for the tourney allow you to put ANY runner on second, not the last batter of the previous inning, assign a player as a CR courtesy runner to that lineup position for that inning, so the stats are assigned to the correct base runner.

Click Batter Up and you will be taken to the lead batter of the inning. Score the inning as normal until the second out is recorded.

Assign the Last Batter to the final batter of an inning. If a caught stealing or pickoff (or the like) is the last out, go to the player prior to current batter and assign that batter as Last Batter.

Click Batter Up to be taken to the home team. Assign the ITB to the previous batter in the lineup, set a CR if necessary and score. Repeat in the next inning if needed.
