I keep getting an installer error where it is looking for a DAO.msi file and tries to install something.
When I go to run the program I get a DAO error 1706 and it cannot find the file DAO.msi.

The problem you are experiencing is a previously installed program left trace files in the Microsoft Installer Utility and these files are being triggered when our software attempts to use the Microsoft Installer. The issue will continue each time our software is started until it is dealt with.
You can solve this problem by putting in the disk for the other program when you are prompted to or by going into control panel and uninstalling the software that is attempting to install again.
Or, another option would be to install and run the Windows Installer Cleanup Utility, click this link to download that utility. http://www.allprosoftware.com/technicalsupport/SupportFiles/msicuu2.exe
After it installs you will need to go into Start->Programs->Windows Install Cleanup to run it. A list of programs with trace install files will be listed. Locate the program that is giving you a problem, select it and choose Remove. This process does not affect the installed programs, it just removes the file traces causing this issue.
You can follow this link to the Microsoft knowledgebase article to learn more about this utility. http://support.microsoft.com/kb/290301
