Details for Problem 182
Problem ID: 182
Start Date: 6/16/2004 10:50:00 AM
Close Date: 3/27/2007 5:09:00 PM
Category: Pointstreak K-ForCE Pocket PC
Subject:
Sacrifices
Description:
What scorekeeping shorthand should be used to ensure a batter who
sacrifices himself is not charged with an official at bat?

For example, a batter hits a deep fly ball to right field and the
runner on third scores. Should it be noted as SF9 or SAC or exactly
what will K-Force need to correctly calculate the batting statistics?

Solution:

K-ForCE looks for the 'S'. If it's either 'SF' or 'SAC', no atbat will be charged. Also if a runner reaches first on an error, when he layed down a sac bunt, the base advance comment should be entered as 'SAC E'. This too, charges no atbat.
