Category: Address Manager
Subject:
back up issue
Description:
I backed up my data and only 25 addresses are showing up. it stops on the K's. I just loaded windows Vista and downloaded your newest patch version 3.1.12 and that did not find the rest of my addresses, Please help me find the rest of them!

Solution:

Unfortunately Vista moves files around and hides folders which can make this process very difficult. Here is what we currently recommend:

1) Exit the software and download the free trial version of our software- the patch doesn't always work by itself after installing Vista. After it's installed, click on Free Trial, then go to Help, Registration and send us the 7-digit installation number. We'll send you back a password to convert it to the full version.

2) If your data is still not correct, you must use the Windows Search function to locate the previous file. Click on the Start Icon in Windows, then type in 'apsam.mdb' (without the quotes) in the search bar and press enter. When the search window appears, click on the 'advanced options' in the upper right of that window. Check the box in the upper left that says to include hidden and system files. Then click the Search button again.

3) Your file will probably be found in a path similar to this:

c:\users\(loginname)\appdata\local\virtualstore\program files\all-pro software\(programname)\data

Right-click on that file from the search window and press 'copy'. Right click on your windows desktop and click 'paste'.

4) Start our software and choose File, Restore Database. Change the folder location to be c:\users\(loginname)\desktop. The file you just copied to the desktop should be here. Click Restore.

Hopefully that will get your data back.
