Fielder's Choice FC and Infield Fly Questions
|
When there are runners on 1st and 2nd,the ball is hit to third base for a FC.He steps on third base for a force out.How do we score that on the PDA?Also when an infield fly is hit and the infield per son catches it how do we score that? The software when we press the number of the fielder wants us to put as an example 5 then another fielder to record not a fly but a hit ball with the runner trying to reach base.

You have to do 3 things. Generally I do them in the following order:
1> Tap 'FC' on the menu bar at the bottom. This is the one case where K-ForCE does not auto advance the runners (since it doesn't know which is putout and what the out comment is).
2> Drag the runner at second to the small out circle (the one next to the small base runner diamond). Enter '5' or '5U' for the out comment (third baseman, unassisted).
3> Advance the runner from 1st to second. Even though there are two Runners at second at this point, K-ForCE knows that you intend to advance the baserunner who was on base before the 'FC' was scored.
>Also when an infield fly is hit and the infield per son catches it how >do we score that?
Infielders make outs on ground balls more often the fly balls. So K-ForCE presumes a ground ball. Infield fly can be recorded in one of two ways:
1> Use the 'F' menu at the bottom, then tap the player position '5' to Record 'F5'
2> Tap the '5' position then manually enter an 'F' before the '5' to Record 'F5'
The reverse is true for a right fielder throwing out a runner at first:
1> Tap '9' enters the out as 'F9'.
2> Tap '9' again and since the 'F9' was selected, it is replaced with just '9'.
3> Tap '3' and somewhere else to accept, and it is interpretted as '9-3'
