Pool Play followed by a bracket
|
How do I add a championship bracket to a pool play event?
|
Instructions: Setting up a pool play event with a Championship bracket linked to it. *For this setup you are setting up two separate events that get linked together within the program. You will setup a pool play/round robin event and then a championship bracket event. The exact format of the events is up to you and how you want your tournament structured. These instructions will just show how to create the two events and link them. If you have questions about your setup please let us know. First create the Pool Play Event Go into Tournament Setup. Click on New to add a new event(Pool Play event) and name it. Click on Team Event then on Pool Play. Enter in the number of pools you wish to have, 1 for a round robin. Click the Advanced Event Settings button. On the General tab, set game length, rest time between games and start date. In Pool Play Settings make sure the option Number of times Teams play each other is chosen and is set to 1. Click OK to close the Advanced Settings box. In the Current Event Dropdown box, choose the Pool Play event if it isnt already and then click the Locations Tab to assign the Locations for that event. Click the Teams tab. Add the teams to the Pool Play event.
Next create the Championship Bracket Event Click the Events tab Click on New to add a new event for the bracket Championship event and name it. Set to Team Event and then Single Elimination (or Double, but that is very uncommon). Click the Advanced Event Settings button. On the General tab, set game length, rest time between games and start date (a start date is recommended to force the Championship event to start at a specific date/time or on the next day). Click on the Championship/Consolation Tab. Put a check in Championship Event. Put in the number of Teams that are advancing to this event. From the Previous Event Dropdown box, choose the Pool Play event that this event is linked to. Click OK to close the Advanced Settings box and then click Save. In the Current Event Dropdown box, choose the Championship event if it isnt already and then click the Locations Tab to assign the Locations for that event. You do not need to enter in Teams as the teams will be fed into this event automatically once the pool play event games are finished. Click OK when finished.
You will then need to seed your teams into the pool play event, schedule the game times for your locations and compute the schedules.
